WWE, or World Wrestling Entertainment, is a global entertainment company that primarily focuses on professional wrestling. Founded in 1953 as the Capitol Wrestling Corporation, it has evolved into a publicly traded company and a dominant force in the industry.

WWE showcases a unique blend of athleticism, theatrical storytelling, and dramatic storylines. Its events feature skilled performers, known as "Superstars," who engage in wrestling matches with predetermined outcomes, emphasizing character development and rivalries. These matches are often high-energy and acrobatic, incorporating various wrestling styles and maneuvers.

WWE programming, including weekly shows like "Raw" and "SmackDown," is broadcast worldwide, reaching millions of viewers. The company also produces major annual events, such as WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam, which draw massive audiences and are considered pinnacles of professional wrestling.

Beyond the in-ring action, WWE has expanded into various ventures, including film production, music releases, merchandise, and even a streaming service, the WWE Network. This diversification has solidified WWE's position as a global entertainment brand with a broad appeal.
